Hi loves! We've been traveling so much lately, and I have all these notes and places for varying itineraries, and I'm now finally getting a free moment to write these all out.

I'm hoping you guys will have an opportunity to explore the beautiful (and our favorite city in the United States) Savannah. My husband, David, and I have been going to Savannah for almost a decade now (wow!). He even had his fraternity semi-formals there, and it was actually one of the first places in the south I traveled to with my grandparents and parents when we first moved down to Florida in 2006. Needless to say, we love the enchantment that this southern charm of a place holds. So much so, that David and I had a destination wedding there! (We planned all of it from Wisconsin too, phew! And nothing went wrong and it was honestly, as corny as it sounds, the best day of my life). Anyway...rather than ramble on and on regarding the beauty of this place (as when you go and visit, I guarantee you'll fall in love with the hidden streets and allies, the southern hospitality and food, and the musical enchantment that follows you as you walk through Forsyth Park), I am going to provide a list below of places to stay, where to eat, as well as activities to do (and throw in a fun, little speakeasy to go to, as well as how to gain access without the password ;)).

Accommodations:

Note: I highly recommend staying at one of the many bed and breakfasts that Savannah has to offer. These typically provide you with wonderful southern charm, as well as they will allow you to discover the secrets and stories that are sewn within the walls of these historic buildings and homes. Each bed and breakfast holds a past, and staying there will allow you to truly immerse yourself in the rich history that the city of Savannah holds. Not to mention each bed and breakfast comes equipped with homemade breakfast each morning. I mean what's not there to love?!

Bed and Breakfasts/houses:

-Jingle Bells Square Cottage (where Jingle Bells the song was first written!). Note: This cottage also has the most adorable working fireplace and is within walking distance to many restaurants and is within a 20-minute walk to both City Market and Bay/River Street.

-Savannah Bed and Breakfast Inn (this is where David and I tend to stay. We have stayed here every time we have gone, minus 3 times. We love the location (15 minutes from Bay and River Street), as well as each of the rooms, which are unique and there is a beautiful backyard and courtyard to enjoy your morning coffee on.

-Forsyth Park Inn (we stayed here a few weeks back when we traveled down to Savannah, and wow! It is right across from the famous Forysth Park, has the best breakfast I have ever tasted, and the bed (besides Holiday Inn beds) are the most comfortable beds we've ever slept on.)

-Holiday Inn Express, Hilton Garden Inn, or The Grand Bohemian (best locations out of any of the accommodations I listed, as they overlook the water. The only downside is these lack the charm that the bed and breakfasts supply).

Things to do:

-Walk along River Street (just make sure that you note it is very touristy, and if you plan on going out to the bars, I highly recommend Bay Street bars [there's even a Packer's bar!])

-Get drinks at the rooftop of the Bohemian

-Go to Savannah Smiles (dueling piano bar). ***We have gone every year but this summer, due to covid, as we just weren't comfortable yet going out to the bars, but this place is everything! So much fun and the drink deals are great!

-Segway tours (we recommend Segway of Savannah).

-Pedal Pub crawl (we recommend Pedal Pub Savannah).

-Grab a drink and walk around/listen to the live music and check out the shops at City Market.

-Check out a local speakeasy, called Mata Hari. Now, in order to get in here, you need a password. However, a secret tip is that if you don't have a password or a "key", you can call them up and explain where you are staying and they should let you in. This is all the information on this speakeasy I am going to say, as we want to keep it a secret ;).

-Get some chocolates at Wrights Square, as well as eat some of their delicious homemade food (David and I actually had Wrights Square provide Halloween chocolates to all of our guests, for our October wedding!).

-Walk through the many parks, including Forsyth Park.

Restaurants:

-Pirate's House

-The Olde Pink House

-Tubby's

-Huey's on the River

-Churchhill's

-The Grove

-Vic's On the River

-Cotton and Rye

-Crystal Beer Parlor (we ate here for the first time a few weeks ago and it was really good! Especially their pulled pork nachos!)

-Treylor Park (was going to leave this off, as it is not our favorite, however, everyone else I spoke with seems to like it, so might just be an us thing haha)

-The Public Kitchen and Bar

-Riverhouse Seafood

-Savannah Smokehouse BBQ & Brew

-Olympia Cafe (we love coming here for an early, quick lunch, on our way out of town)

-Rocks on the River

-Spudnik

Please note that there are so many different restaurants, but I only included all the ones I can personally vouch for/I've eaten at personally, as I never want to blindly suggest something.
